River Stewardship Company Set To Grow

Thursday, 19th April 2012

The River Stewardship Company and Aire Action Leeds are developing a joint plan for working with local communities and riparian owners in Leeds to improve their waterways.

River Stewardship Company Set To Grow

Complimenting existing initiatives, the RSC will add value by supporting networking between partners and communities to help better coordination of work on the waterways, and by encouraging riverside landowners to improve their own section of river. The model will bring the lessons learned from the Sheffield branch to Leeds, but adapt to the different conditions and existing projects. Much good work is already happening in Leeds – particularly around volunteering, events and environmental education – and the RSC will strive to support this.

Next steps will include meeting local groups and organisations to plan together what the RSC will focus on, to ensure we complement and add value to the great things already happening. If you would like to find out more contact Helen Batt on 07590 965365 helen.batt@the-rsc.co.uk and take a look at www.riverlution.org.uk our website for supporting river friends networking.
