Successful Application to Veolia

After a successful application to Veolia for funding, we’re working to improve access to the Canal Towpath from Worksop Road in Darnall.

The present flight of steps will be replaced by a series of ramps, which will make access possible for wheelchair and pushchair users. Our Stewards spent a day working with The Adsetts Canal Project and volunteers from the Blue Loop Troop to clear the route for a new path, loading felled vegetation onto Adsetts’ boat, which was taken to Tinsley Marina for composting. Work installing the new ramps is to begin soon.
