Balsam Bashing at the River Dearne
.jpg)
This week we have been working with the Friends of the Dearne volunteers to remove Himalayan Balsam from the River Dearne near Denby Dale.
This non-native invasive plant species spreads rapidly along waterways and can out compete native vegetation. Friends of the Dearne have been working hard to remove this species at the top for the River Dearne and along small tributaries of the Dearne to reduce the spread of seeds downstream.
